RUNKELSTEIN CASTLE - the illustrated manor
was built 1237 on a jutting edge of rock. Runkelstein castle has the biggest and best preserved frescoes of the middle ages in the world.
Open from Tue-Sun 10 am – 6 pm. Last entrance 5.30 pm. Closed on Monday.

SIGMUNDSKRON CASTLE
It belonged during the 10th Century to the Prince Bishof of Trento, while during the second half of the 15th century duke Sigismond, count of Tirol, transformed it into the biggest and most prestigious castle and named it „Sigmunndskron“. At the present date it has become the Mountain Museum of Reinhold Messner (MMM).
Opening times: first Su of march until the third in Nov, from 10 am to 6 pm (last entrance 5 pm). Closed on Thursday.
